We are in the early stages of this long adventure and there is much to do to get it off the ground. Just like you we have day/night jobs and all the chaos that comes with life in this new century. We really had to take a step back and determine if we could add one more thing to our plate…
…we couldn’t, but, we decided it was much too important not to.
There are so many things that are broken in our collective system, that picking one seems to have as much effect as throwing a pebble in the ocean. Our approach however, has been to holistically tackle as many issues as possible but on a relatively small scale, our hope is to set a precedent that can easily be repeated and built upon; essentially an open-source social solution.
This project has been heavily influenced by the endeavors of Bill Strickland (Check him out at TED), who has proven that by providing a place that focuses on dignity for all involved, great things happen.
Much of our focus has been on designing a facility that would not only bring dignity to our rescues but to the community at large.
We want The Pawvillion to serve as beacon for those who want nothing more than to express their empathy and feel the amazing catharsis of changing a life.
